Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som, Qatar’s first full-immersion wellness
destination and the largest of its kind in the Middle East, is celebrating a landmark year in 2025, having
received 28 prestigious regional and international awards and recognitions. These accolades affirm the
resort’s leadership across wellness and spa excellence, culinary innovation, sustainability, and exceptional
service standards.


Throughout the year, Zulal continued to strengthen its position as a global wellness leader, earning
recognition from some of the world’s most respected travel, spa, and lifestyle authorities. Its integrative
wellness philosophy was honoured on the international stage, with titles including World’s Leading Retreat
2025, Middle East’s Leading Retreat, and Qatar’s Best Wellness Retreat.


The resort was also named among the World’s Best Spas in Condé Nast Traveller’s 2025 Readers’ Choice
Awards and received Best-in-Class recognition as the Best Wellness Retreat in the Middle East by Tatler,
reinforcing its reputation for holistic and results-driven wellbeing.


Culinary excellence remained a cornerstone of Zulal’s success in 2025. Its signature restaurant, Al-Sidr, was
named World’s Best Wellness Hotel Restaurant and recognised for sustainable, green dining, while
Acacia earned accolades for Middle Eastern global cuisine. The resort’s broader culinary programme and
talented team also achieved international acclaim, including a Silver Medal at the Bocuse d’Or and multiple
Gold and Silver awards at Salon Culinaire Qatar, underscoring Zulal’s commitment to nutrition-focused

Leadership and people excellence were equally central to Zulal’s achievements. General Manager Mr.
Ammar Samad received multiple leadership honours, including Hotelier of the Year, Leadership
Excellence Awards, recognition among the Top 100 General Managers of the World, and the Qatar
Tourism Awards 2025 – Community Leadership, Hotelier of the Year. These accolades recognise his
contributions to advancing wellness, community engagement, and sustainable hospitality in Qatar. Zulal’s
